On a hot summer day, nothing hits the spot quite like this refreshing citrus and mint drink. Add less sugar if you prefer and adjust to your liking.

- 600ml (1 pint) boiling water
- 12 sprigs fresh mint
- 4 ordinary tea bags
- 200g (7 oz) caster sugar, or to taste
- 250ml (9 fl oz) good quality orange juice
- 4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1.2L (2 pints) cold water
- thin orange slices for garnish (optional)
- thin lemon slices for garnish (optional)
- additional mint leaves for garnish

- Place the tea bags and mint sprigs in a large jug. Pour boiling water over them and leave to steep for about 8 minutes. Remove and discard the tea bags and mint leaves, squeezing them to extract all the flavour.
- Add the sugar and stir until it has dissolved. Pour in the orange juice, lemon juice and cold water.
- Serve over ice cubes, garnished with mint leaves and thin slices of orange or lemon.

Made it healthier.I decreased the sugar to 150g and it was still quite sweet. Probably could decrease even more.-15 Jul 2008
I was excited to make this because I had so much fresh mint growing in my garden. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to trying it hot in the winter.-15 Jul 2008
